longer on the initial removal, but will save you minutes on your
pre-polish operations. TIP – run with a moderate water flow, if using Flex
Diamond belts run at 3000 rpm. When using 675L DMFF use moderate water
flow and run at 1800 rpm

4th Step: 3M™ FX Polishing Wheels 240 grade or 320 grades – Pre-polish replacing coarse grade Tripoli compound on Buff.
3M™ FX Polishing Wheels uses a conformable resin
system, which results in a wheel that can follow contours, curves and
unique part geometries, while providing uniform finishes. Unlike Tripoli
Compound you can run the 3M™ FX wheel with water, reducing heat,
eliminating sonic clean-up, and complete retention of precious metal.
Choose either a 240 or 320 grade depending on the work piece and the
products used during steps 1-2 or 3. We have found a number of customers
who use a FX 240 directly following a 3M™ 675L 74 micron DMFF belt.
Consult with a 3M™ Representative if you have any questions. TIP: Run
with light water and at 1200 to 1500 rpm.
